CAMH is developing a new five-year strategic plan to take effect in 2012.

We stand at a singular moment in our history. More people than ever recognize the need for a system of care for mental illness and addictions, and there is unprecedented public discourse about these issues.

And with CAMH’s first decade behind us, we’re well-positioned to build on all the progress we have made and to grow to our full potential, serving the public as a 21st century healthcare organization.

As a hospital, we focus on the patients in our care today. And as an academic health sciences centre we are responsible for securing the health of tomorrow’s patients.

As such the fundamentals contained in CAMH’s Strategy Map (PDF) will continue to serve as the underpinnings of our strategic planning process:

Care: Capitalize on our specialty expertise and serve diverse communities; emphasize quality & safety

Discover: Stabilize resources; seize scientific opportunities; foster integration

Share: Pursue and accept opportunities for system leadership; develop and enhance our role in education, training and knowledge exchange
