Specialty Clinics
The Specialty Clinics include the Sexual Behaviours Clinic, the Psycho-legal Clinic and the Kurt Freund Phallometric Lab.
Each of the clinics provides outpatient assessments and treatment.
Each clinic has its own intake procedure and referral criteria. Assessments for individuals who have outstanding legal charges
are not covered by OHIP and need to be privately funded. Clinics should be contacted directly regarding referral processes:
Psycho-legal Clinic
(416) 535-8501, ext. 4886
The Sexual Behaviours Clinic of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health provides multidisciplinary assessment and treatment
services for individuals with sexual behaviours or urges that may have resulted in personal or legal difficulties. The initial
assessment consists of a mental health interview and may include phallometric assessment and/or psychological testing. Decisions
related to treatment options will be made by the assessment and treatment team.
Our program uses a multi-disciplinary approach. Our team includes professionals from psychiatry, psychology, sexology, social
work, and other disciplines. The sexual behaviors clinic treatment model uses an eclectic, evidence-based approach that includes
aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based therapies and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Individuals referred by physicians and by parole/probation offices will be assessed only at the conclusion of any outstanding
legal issues.
